What is Invisalign?
Invisalign is a treatment used to improve the appearance of mild to moderate alignment issues such as gapped teeth, crowded teeth, under or overbites, or crossbites. We can also generate a 3D animation of how your teeth will look after treatment before you even get started on it, which can help to motivate you to wear your aligners for the recommended 22 hours a day.
Does that mean Invisalign is removable?
Yes! The wonderful thing with Invisalign is that you can remove the aligners for a couple of hours a day. This allows you to eat and drink without your aligners in your mouth and saves you from having to clean them up after mealtimes. It also means that you will be able to brush and floss your teeth as normal, preventing you from developing any issues with your oral hygiene. At times, fixed braces can make it difficult to clean teeth and gums thoroughly, so this is a great way to get the improved smile you’ve been dreaming of.
What other benefits does Invisalign provide?
If you have a busy lifestyle, then spending lots of time with our dentist Chelsea may not be an option for you. With Invisalign, this won’t be an issue. We simply need to see you once every 6 weeks to check your progress and to provide you with your next 6 weeks’ worth of aligners. All you have to do is change the aligners on a weekly basis and come back and see us again when you’re ready for more and to have your next checkup. You should also find that you don’t require emergency appointments as the aligners are very durable and difficult to break, being made of plastic.
